Deadline calculator: every FEMA and return date, from your own dates

Export realisation with the band that applied, the month’s services EDF, import payment, export advance and merchanting legs — and the GST, TDS, IEC and FLA returns — counted the way the FxLayer platform counts them, with the rule beside each date.

  • 9 / 12months to realise (12 in rupees)
  • 30days for the month’s EDF
  • 6months between MTT legs

1What was exported

2The dates

The Let Export Order date when you have it, otherwise the Shipping Bill date.
The new date the bank allowed replaces the regulatory one.

Dates are counted in your browser by the same rules the FxLayer platform runs (flow-rules.js, the compliance calendar), in calendar months, India time. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere. General information, not advice: confirm the date with your AD bank or chartered accountant.

The rules behind the dates

Each date carries the rule of its own day

The 2026 Regulations changed most of these periods from 1 October 2026, and two amendments before that moved the realisation period twice. The calculator applies the rule in force on the date you enter, not today’s rule to every date.

Realisation

Four bands, one Shipping Bill

Nine months before 14 November 2025, fifteen from then to 4 June 2026, nine from 5 June 2026, and from 1 October 2026 nine — or twelve when invoiced or settled in rupees. An export still unrealised a year after its due date restricts the exporter’s further exports to full advance or a letter of credit.

Services

The monthly EDF

From 1 October 2026 every services export is declared on an EDF: one per month, to the AD bank, within 30 days from the month’s end. The bank enters it in EDPMS within five working days and the proceeds are due within nine months of the invoice.

Returns

The periodic dates

GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B (monthly or QRMP), the LUT before the year starts, TDS on payments to non-residents and Form 144, the IEC update by 30 June, advance tax and the FLA return — each with its section or rule.

Questions

About the deadline calculator

For exports from 1 October 2026, nine months from the date of shipment, or twelve months when the export is invoiced or settled in rupees (FEM (Export and Import of Goods and Services) Regulations, 2026, as amended on 22 September 2026). Older Shipping Bills keep the period of their own date: nine months before 14 November 2025, fifteen from then to 4 June 2026, and nine from 5 June 2026. Services are counted from the invoice date.
In calendar months from the date, the way the FxLayer platform counts them: a Shipping Bill of 15 January is due on 15 October. When the target month is shorter, the date moves back to its last day, so 31 May plus nine months is the last day of February. Your bank's system may count the last day differently, so confirm the date with it.
Within 30 days from the end of the month in which the invoice was raised, for every services invoice dated from 1 October 2026 (regulation 3(2) of the 2026 Regulations). One EDF covers the month's invoices and goes to the AD bank the money comes in through. Services other than software may instead file on or before the day the payment arrives.
Not in the 2026 Regulations. From 1 October 2026 the AD bank follows up an import payment within the period in the underlying contract and may allow more time on a request with reasons. Enter the credit days or the contract date to get the payment date.
Yes. Every result has Add to calendar, and the statutory calendar downloads all its dates as one .ics file that Outlook, Google Calendar and Apple Calendar import. Nothing is sent to FxLayer: the dates are worked out in your browser.
