When to use P0102

Use P0102 for money received from abroad: realisation of export bills sent on collection (other than Nepal and Bhutan). It sits under RBI head 01, goods – exports and imports.

Quote the Shipping Bill numbers the money settles when you tell the bank the purpose, so the receipt is matched in EDPMS.

The same purpose in the other direction is S0102: Payment towards imports — settlement of invoice (other than Nepal and Bhutan) (money paid abroad).

Form A1 or Form A2

Neither. Form A1 and Form A2 are applications to send money out of India. For money coming in, the bank issues a Foreign Inward Remittance Advice (FIRA), or a payment platform an e-FIRA, naming the purpose code.

Income tax

Money received for goods or services you export is your business or professional income, taxed in your own return with the rest of your income. Nothing is withheld in India on money coming in.

GST

Exports of goods are zero-rated: shipped under a Letter of Undertaking without IGST, or with IGST paid and refunded, the Shipping Bill serving as the refund claim.

Reporting and closure

The bank matches the receipt to the Shipping Bill in EDPMS. The full value must be realised within nine months of the date of export (twelve when invoiced or settled in rupees) under the FEMA Export and Import Regulations, 2026 as amended on 22 September 2026; ask the bank for any extension before the period ends. The eBRC follows from DGFT for exporters who claim benefits.
